Haha. There's no comeback to that I suppose.

Pretty sure Luke's response to that will be "I like bunk guitars".

Fuck off, all my guitars are very nice and some of them very expensive.
My point was covers bands are boring.

Fair enough to people who do make money out of cover bands, and I had noticed quite a few in Barfly listings. But I'd rather play my own band's music to no-one than hash out covers of bands that I don't listen to.

I assume the likelihood is that you end up not playing your own music because you are already booked to play covers in Abertreavonpwl rugby club

I think it comes down to motivation: if I wanted to make money I would have a job, which I do. Playing music is the thing I do to enjoy, I have no desire to make that into another job unless it could replace my job. Which it never will.

I know what your point is you boob. I totally agree with it. I imagine the vast majority of us musicians on here agree which is exactly why we're not doing it.

Well I think it's probably just fair really: I've played gigs where over 100 people have paid to get in and bought drinks all night only to then be told they didn't make enough to pay any of the bands any money. Let's say on average £4 to get in means there's got to be £20 petrol at the door alone.
Well done that ruggers clubs for dealing honestly.

I would happily be in a covers band, but I would fight tooth and nail to avoid playing The Stereophonics.

Well, they are fairly popular.
I have all the albums on vinyl, must be worth a packet.

Hahaha, I know man, you must have posted about it a hundred times :)

I just knew you couldn't resist.

BTW I don't own any of their albums at all, because they are crap. (Now lets see if I can re-start THAT old thread)

Think Atomck should do their interpretation of the full help album as an encore at the next gig
