That's in my next batch of shows to get through once I clear some current ones out, he soured me with the Chris Brown thing a bit but heard good things about the show.
UFC Fight Island is on Saturday, so I've reserved some beers and low expectations for that.
Fight Island was great!
Watched all of Halt and Catch Fire recently. Loved it.

Watched Da 5 Bloods last night. Superb.

Yeah this one looks neat, glad you liked!
I mean, I'm pretty easily pleased but it was fun!

Watched The Vast of the Night yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Loved the whole radio play/Twilight Zone feel.
1950's New Mexico? Strange frequency on the radio? Sold.

Enjoying the second series of Mr Mercedes. Brendan Gleeson is brilliant in everything.
-
Watched Blackkklansman last night. Loved it.

I can't cope with anything taxing at the moment so multiple episodes of New Girl on Netflix. It's terrible but I love it anyway.
Working through Studio Ghibli films on Netflix and watched Pom Poko for the first time. Not my favourite but still good.
And a lot of Disney +

Oh, Arrival! I forgot Arrival. That would be in the top 10 for sure. I loved the score for it.

Did you do Midsommar too? That's great, directors cut is long but it's the one to watch if you've not seen it.
I did. I hated it less. More weird than scary.

Hereditary and VV are two films Dave bullied me into watching. I still haven't forgiven him for Hereditary.

I watched this video on the weekend:
And promptly used it as an excuse to watch some things from his list I hadn't seen. So that was The Vanishing (the 1988 original, I have the 93 remake too but it sounds thoroughly shite even though it was done by the same director) and Audition which I've been meaning to watch for close to 20 years. I also mixed that up with Visitor Q with regards to what I thought might be a spoiler, but nope. Weird film, typical Miike. Thought both were **** efforts, didn't find either scary though but that's not a surprise.
Happy to see The Witch on the video. I love/hate that film. Love it for how good it is, hate it for how stressful I find watching it. And that fucking goat.

I need to rewatch Jaws. It's the favourite film of a lot of my friends. I remember it being good, but not top 5 good. I'll see if it's on Netflix
It was on there fairly recently.
A top 5 would be difficult for me but I think maybe
1. Jaws. I can't even explain why I love it si much. I just do.
2. Full Metal Jacket (I only watched this properly fairly recently and I loved it)
3. Jurassic Park (nostalgia playing a big part here)
4. Hunt for the Wilderpeople
5. Pan's Labyrinth
You could probably stick something like Terminator 2 in there somewhere because I will happily watch it over and over and not get sick of it. My tastes aren't particularly highbrow.

1. Jaws
I need to think about the rest.

I've still yet to watch Reservoir Dogs/Jackie Brown/Hateful 8.
I loved Deathproof. But I understand that puts me in the minority. I thought it was fun.
Once upon a time in Hollywood is fantastic though. So much to love about it.

I dunno about it being his best film, but I’m glad you liked it!
What do you think is his best film?

Kinda surprised I've never heard of them, but yeah, I'm digging that.
Saw them at The Moon last year. They're good live too. Really tight.

I really enjoyed Estuary Blacks album that they put out last year. That's probably the newest thing I've listened to.
But I will check these out because I'm listening to the same things over and over at the moment.

The last episode of Better Call Saul was superb. So excited for next series.

Wasn't Cici in a band called Wishing Hour or have I completely imagined that?

Cici had a metal band before, and I'm struggling to remember the name of them.
Oh god, I can't remember the name. That's going to bug me for hours. What was it?

Better Call Saul is the best thing around atm. This season especially is better than Breaking Bad even. Bob Odenkirk is absolutely killing it. He's phenomenal.
It's so good. I've loved it from the start but the last two seasons have been outstanding.
An entire series of Silicon Valley passed me by without me realising so we are watching that.

Fallen Hero.

Mine consist of:
Seeing family and pals. Hopefully trying to arrange something will be easier than it has been in the past. At least until the novelty wears off.
Going to the beach, up a mountain or a walk anywhere that is further than a mile from my house.
Training again. I miss it. Not to the extent where I am doing solo drills at home but it's a fun outlet for me and I had planned on competing more this year. Given how close contact a sport it is that's going to be a while off I think.

Not seeing my parents or nan for 3 weeks now. Not so bad with my parents because I can video chat with them but my nan doesn't understand all that. She lives alone but I've been going there once a week, virtually every week since I was 14. Ringing her every day and she seems okay, it's just hard and even though it's the right thing to do, it's difficult not to feel guilty.
I know other people are in the same boat. But today it's bothered me a lot.
What Are You Watching on Netflix/Amazon etc

I don't know what the deal was with the Aldo fight. Leon Roberts is a great referee normally so fuck knows what happened there.
Jack Shore tomorrow I think. He's good. It's only his second UFC fight but he was brilliant in his first one in September and was great when he fought in Cage Warriors.
